This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used across Pebby's websites: our main site, pebby.app, and our quiz funnel, quiz.pebby.app. The short version: our main site sets no analytics or advertising cookies; our quiz funnel uses cookies and similar technologies to measure ad performance, described below. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
01 What this policy covers
This policy covers cookies and similar technologies — such as pixels and browser local storage — on the Pebby website. It does not cover the Pebby mobile app, which is described in our Privacy Policy.
An anonymous visit to our main site, pebby.app, sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Our quiz funnel, quiz.pebby.app, is different — it uses Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel to measure ad performance, described in What we use below.
02 What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work and to remember preferences. Some technologies, like browser local storage, work similarly but are not technically cookies. Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by another organisation).
03 What we use
On our main site, pebby.app:
| Technology | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Theme preference (pebby-theme) | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode so the site looks the way you like. Stored in your browser's local storage; never sent to us or shared. | Strictly necessary / functional | Until you clear your browser storage |
On our quiz funnel, quiz.pebby.app:
| Technology | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session identifier | First-party identifier that keeps your quiz progress as you move between screens. | Strictly necessary / functional | Duration of your funnel session |
| Google Tag Manager | Tag-management tool that loads the measurement technologies below. | Analytics / advertising | Varies by tag |
| Meta Pixel | Measures quiz completion and purchase events to gauge ad performance. Where you complete a purchase, sends a hashed (not plain-text) version of your email address and Meta's own click/browser identifiers so Meta can match the purchase to the ad that drove it. | Advertising | Standard Meta Pixel cookie lifetime (up to 90 days) |
None of these funnel technologies ever receive your quiz answers (feeding, sleep, or other tracking-related responses). Only progress/completion events and, on purchase, a hashed email and ad click identifiers are shared with Meta or Google — see Privacy Policy §3 for the full commitment.
We separately use Moosend for our email campaigns. Where you have opted in to marketing emails, Moosend may record email interactions (such as opens and clicks) within those emails to measure campaign effectiveness. This relates to email, not website cookies. See our Privacy Policy for details and how to opt out.
04 Your choices & how to control storage
Our main site sets no tracking cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of there. You can clear the theme preference at any time through your browser settings (clearing site data / local storage). Doing so simply resets the site to your system's default appearance.
On our quiz funnel, where technically supported, we honor recognized browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) to disable the advertising cookies described above. You can also decline by not proceeding past the quiz, or by contacting us at privacy@pebby.app.
For more on managing cookies and browser storage generally, see aboutcookies.org or your browser's help pages.
05 Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if our use of cookies or similar technologies changes (for example, if we add website analytics in the future, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent first). The “Effective date” above reflects the latest version.
